Sea Turtles are just about everywhere there are oceans except for the arctic regions.  Their role in the ecology is simple:  they are natural lawn mowers!  Their feeding on seagrasses fosters the spread of this cover over the ocean floor, and helps to provide a valuable shelter for fish hatchlings, shellfish and crustaceans, and other ocean life.  They are also able to consume the dangerous box jellyfish with no ill effects, so their dining helps to save lives every year.  So, they are very important.
