The View from Here - Island Web Cams!
by Anita Davis
Ain't nothing like the real thing! All the brochures, virtual tours and stills in the world cannot replace what's happening now. Web cameras (cams) have become popular, especially in destinations, for this reason. Viewers get to see real-time or captured video of someplace they'd like to be, while visitors can tell the world with a smile, "Wish you were here"!

For decades, Caribbean governmental agencies have known that cooperative works in the area of agriculture would be of great benefit. Research began in the late 1940's on soils, cocoa and bananas through the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture (ICTA) which provided research and instruction.

Learning and Growing with Kids and the Sea
Inspired by a tragedy at sea that took place in 1986, Dr. Teddy Cummings issued a plea at a Rotary (II) meeting for a way to share water safety instruction with the youth of the Virgin Islands. By 1987, both the University of the Virgin Islands and the University of Puerto Rico had joined forces to develop just such a program, and Kids and the Sea (KATS) was born.
